Oddo Vins & Domaines’ managers share their story

2023 is synonymous with increased communication and visibility for the Oddo Vins & Domaines Group, which is increasingly highlighted at international exhibitions and through podcasts and interviews

During a round table discussion organized by the wine influencer Rouge aux Lèvres, Lorraine Oddo, director of Oddo Wines & Domaines, was the representative of the activities of the estates in front of dozens of spectators invited to this evening gathering the 15 most influential French women in the wine world in 2023. This evening was an opportunity to exchange ideas about the wine industry and to discover women winemakers involved in meaningful projects.

This discussion between Margot from Rouge aux Lèvres and Lorraine continued during a podcast about the family group, its history and its future. You can listen to the podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcast.

Pascal Oddo was also interviewed alongside Schalk-Willem Joubert and Petri Venter, the two managers of the Taaibosch and Le Chant estates in South Africa. In “A Brief History of Taaibosch“, journalist Dan (from Dan Really Likes Wine) goes over the history of the group in South Africa, the development of its three estates and its current ecosystem.

The Domaine du Vallon des Glauges celebrates the end of the harvest

At the Oddo Domaine du Vallon des Glauges, the wine is good, and the welcome and the hospitality remain preponderant. The proof is the magnificent reception at the end of the harvest that the owners offered to their clients (…), a tasty cocktail party prepared by the local caterer “O saveurs Origin’halles”, (…) while tasting the wines of the domain but also those of South Africa of the group “Oddo Vins & Domaines”, such as the excellent wine “Le Chant du Coq”, from the domain Taaibosch.

The guests (mostly restaurateurs), who were welcomed by Pascal Oddo and his daughter Lorraine, who manages the estate, but also the whole team of the exploitation, were able to enjoy a moment of relaxation in a friendly atmosphere.

“We had early ripening with very healthy grapes, good degrees and beautiful colors that gave magnificent whites and rosés. As for the red wine “Réserve Oddo” made from a single variety of hand-sorted Syrah, it is really promising but we will have to wait at least 2 years to taste it”.

A great end to the year for Oddo Vins & Domaines

As the harvest comes to an end at the various estates of the family-owned Oddo Vins & Domaines group in France and abroad, the end of the year 2022 is remarkable

“The 2022 harvest is exceptional, both in Sancerre and in Sicily, as well as in our Oddo Vallon des Glauges estate in Coteaux d’Aix en Provence. The volumes and the quality of the grapes are present, reflecting all the work we have done to achieve excellence, and to promote a model of committed organic and biodynamic viticulture at the heart of our estates,” explains Lorraine ODDO, director of Oddo Vins & Domaines. “Pluriculture today reflects our commitment to the preservation of the environment, trying to protect our resources as much as possible against climate change.”

As a symbol of this work carried out for years in the vineyards with the aim of offering ever better wines, the vineyards have all seen their wines rewarded by international sommeliers, including the Taaibosch Crescendo 2019, the latest to be rated, which obtained a near-perfect score of 98/100 in the annual South African report by Tim Atkins, an international expert who is very attached to South African wines.

The year 2023 already promises to be full of opportunities for Oddo Vins & Domaines, starting with obtaining the certification for organic wine production for all the estates, in order to highlight a committed, respectful and quality viticulture, while improving the quality of our wines.

Oddo Vins & Domaines wines can be found on our online store, and more recently in the cellars of Repaire de Bacchus (for the Rosé Oddo Vallon des Glauges, the white Serra Ferdinandea and the Taaibosch Crescendo), as well as on Twil.

Taaibosch awarded once more by Tim Atkins

The development of our vineyard Taaibosch, located in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa, continues with the new exceptional rating of 98/100 awarded to Taaibosch Crescendo 2019 by journalist Tim Atkins

Two years after the launch of Taaibosch Crescendo and almost a year to the day after the 2018 Crescendo was revealed as “Red Wine Discovery of the Year”, Tim Atkins renews his confidence with Crescendo 2019 and awards the exceptional score of 98/100, positioning Taaibosch as one of the top 5 red wines in South Africa, and once again putting the Stellenbosch region and its fabulous Taaibosch vineyard on the world map!

Taaibosch is one of the South African vineyardsowned by the Oddo family wine group Oddo Vins & Domaines
